Scoring Methodology - ESG Evaluation by Bright Path

The purpose of this questionnaire is to give you an initial overview of your maturity in relation to the various ESG issues. The purpose of this document is to explain the scoring methodology used by Bright Path.

The questionnaire is based on ISO 26000, the international standard for corporate social responsibility. The ISO standard is made up of seven general topics and covers the 36 fields of action of the standard. Here are the details, with the number of questions per topics (25 questions in total).

  1. Organizational Governance (2 questions)
  2. Human Rights (3 questions)
  3. Labour Practices (6 questions)
  4. Environment (6 questions)
  5. Fair Operating Prices (3 questions)
  6. Consumer Issues (3 questions)
  7. Community Involvement & Development (2 questions)

Each question has 4 possible answers, worth from 0 to 4 points. Here is the scale with explanation:

  • 0 point: The organization does nothing about this issue.
  • 1 point: The organisation has a base or respects the legislation, but it doesn’t go beyond that.
  • 2.5 points: Measures have been put in place, the organization has made a commitment, but we are only halfway there.
  • 4 points: The organisation’s commitment is complete, and it is a role model when it comes to this issue.

To obtain a score for each topic, all the questions in this topic are averaged. The overall mark, out of 100 points, is obtained by adding up the scores for each question.
